Extensor Tendon Protocols – Look How Far We Have Come!

Thursday, October 14, 2021: 7:00-8:00 pm

Journal Club Presented and Moderated by:
Adrienne Tesarek OTR/L, CHT

Adrienne Tesarek has been a CHT for over 15 years and has worked at UCSD, UCLA and is now back in San Diego working for Select Medical in Poway.  She has taught classes in orthotic fabrication and conservative management of thumb CMC OA. She is the newest member of the SD Hand SIG and is excited to be a part of the group to present and plan the upcoming educational opportunities in 2022.

Adrienne will review the history of extensor tendon treatment including the ICAM (Immediate Controlled Active Motion) and the RME (relative motion extension orthosis). She will then lead a lively discussion about the main article, as well as, ask for participation.

She is asking that willing participants are prepared to:

    • Offer their thoughts about the article.
    • Talk about their current protocols used in their clinic and the reason for the use of that protocol.
    • Discuss the outcomes of their treatment approach.

Join us as we discuss articles that support the best treatment approach for extensor tendons. The links to the articles are listed below:
