This group was started by Debbie Summers and Judi Coulthard in 1988. The main purposes of the group are listed below and these continue today:

1.   To provide ongoing, local educational opportunities in hand rehabilitation.

2.   To facilitate networking between therapists who treat hand injured patients

The first meeting was on May 5th, 1988 at Sharp Upper Extremity Center. The meetings were held there until 1996 when we moved the meetings to Children’s Hospital. In January 2000, the location moved to the VA Hospital and continued there until 2012.

There have been presentations by many local physicians and therapists on multiple topics. The meetings have also included sharing of local educational, networking and job opportunities.
